NICKLE-CADMIUM BATTERIES

Nickle Cadmium Batteries

Many other manufacturers use older Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) technology batteries. These are far cheaper to produce, however are infamous for the dreaded “memory effect”. This means if the lights are only partially discharged before recharging, this “memory” stops the battery from being able to fully recharge therefore reducing future battery capacity. As a direct result, these batteries take more than twice as long to charge and have a much lower energy capacity.

NICKLE-METAL HYDRIDE BATTERIES

Nickle Metal Hydride Batteries

Due to this significant “memory effect” Solar Lighting Direct lights use Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) Batteries, which give you:

1 Less “memory effect”

2 Quicker charge times

3 Longer lighting periods

LITHIUM LIFEP04 BATTERIES

Nickle Cadmium Batteries

Moving forward our solar lights are being equipped with Lithium LifeP04 Batteries, which reduce the memory effect even further than NiMH, therefore these batteries offer you:

1 Virtually non-existent “memory effect”

2 The quickest charge times

3 The longest possible lighting periods
